the role of education in conservation bioparc fuengirola

The key role of Education in raising awareness on the protection of nature

Every 24th of January, the International Day of Education is celebrated and from the Department of Education of BIOPARC Fuengirola we want to take advantage of this day every year to convey the importance of CONSERVING and PROTECTING nature and its biodiversity.

Visiting a zoo, in this case BIOPARC Fuengirola, is a great learning opportunity, not only because of the direct observation of wild animals but also because of the possibility of getting to know in depth the habits, the way of life and adaptations of species over time. In addition, we facilitate the understanding of the interdependence of animals and their natural habitats and promote programs for the conservation and reproduction of endangered species.

As the team responsible for the educational work at the park, in our school visits, talks, activities and programs, we intend to promote empathy towards the distinct species and their situation in the natural environment, with our main objective being to contribute as much as we can to the conservation of nature.

Thus, we work every day to CONVEY and SPREAD the importance of environmental and sustainable education with which we will be able to protect the environment, the role of the educator being essential to increase the awareness and knowledge of visitors about environmental issues or problems. This way, we try to provide children and adults with the necessary tools to take responsible measures, installing in them values and attitudes to protect our natural resources. Without a doubt, we believe that the basis of conservation is EDUCATION, it cannot be left to chance.
